"Forasmuch then
as the
children are partakers
of flesh
and blood, he (Christ) also himself
likewise took part of the
same; that through
death he (Christ) might destroy him that had the power of death,
that is,
the devil;" Hebrews 2:14 Destroy is the word we should focus on as it relates to satan...
To be destroyed is the picture given of satan in Gen. 3:14-15 "And the
LORD God
said unto the
serpent, Because thou
hast done this,
thou art
cursed above all
cattle, and above
every beast of the field;
upon thy
belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt
thou eat
all the
days of
thy life: And I will put
enmity between thee and the
woman, and between
thy seed
and her
seed; it
shall bruise thy
head, and thou
shalt bruise his
heel." The woman seed means physical or Jesus had to bruise satan's head in His physical body... We must keep the seed of Abraham which is spirit separate from the seed of the woman which is physical...The woman seed "Blotting out
the handwriting of
ordinances that was
against us, which
was contrary to us, and took it out of the way,
nailing it to his cross; And
having spoiled (destroyed) principalities
and powers, he made a shew of them openly,
triumphing over them in it. The point is satan was destroyed by Jesus in His physical body on the Cross... Jude wrote "And the
angels which kept not their
first estate, but left their
own habitation, he (Jesus) hath reserved
in everlasting chains
under darkness unto the judgment
of the
great day." Jude 1:6 Therefore because Adam and Eve listen to satan we are all born with the mind of satan, and must be born again... All the evil done in the world is done by PEOPLE... "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of ( his own lust), and
enticed." James 1:13-14 "Whosoever is born of God doth not
commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is
born of God."
